Lithium batteries are widely used because of many advantages, especially lithium iron phosphate batteries that can perfectly replace lead-acid batteries. Batteries need to undergo an aging test before they are officially shipped.
Aging generally refers to the placement of the battery after the first charging and forming after the battery is assembled and injected. It can be aging at room temperature or high temperature. The effect is to stabilize the properties and composition of the SEI film formed after the initial charging.
The room temperature aging temperature is 25 degrees Celsius. The standards of high temperature aging are different in different factories, some are 38 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius. The time is between 48-72 hours.
Why do lithium batteries need to be aging test?
Firstly, to make the electrolyte infiltration better, which is conducive to the stability of lithium battery performance;
Second, after the active materials in the positive and negative electrode materials of the battery are aged, the electrochemical performance quickly stabilizes;
Third, the voltage and internal resistance of the aging battery are more stable, which facilitates the selection of batteries with high consistency.
Do not use the lithium battery pack in an environment where the temperature is too high or too low. Lithium batteries exposed to an unsuitable temperature environment will shorten the life of the lithium batteries. When the lithium battery is not in use, it is the best practice to store it in a cool and dry place.
At the same time, do not mix lithium batteries of different materials, different capacities, different voltages, and different manufacturers. Always use the same chemistry, capacity and brand.
