Can solar power be used on RVs?
The RV has a complete power system, which is roughly divided into "three sections, seven links."

So how should the entire power system of the RV match? In theory, the bigger the "wood barrel" is, the better, but considering factors such as cost performance, space utilization, weight, etc., this "wood barrel" should be made enough.
The design of the electric power system of the RV requires the rational use of new energy sources; the other is to make up for shortcomings.
The electric energy of RVs is limited. In order to pursue a higher cost performance and a balanced utilization ratio of space, we must learn to use electricity rationally. The principle is: "We live within our means" and do not overdraw electricity. Electricity for RVs is relatively limited, so saving is very important! For ordinary lead-acid batteries, two or three overdischarges are enough to completely scrap the battery. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a lithium iron phosphate battery with relatively good cost performance as much as possible.
The RV lithium iron phosphate battery pack is composed of batteries, BMS, cabinet, etc. Individual manufacturers have also installed temperature protection systems and maintenance interfaces. The RV lithium iron phosphate battery pack has many advantages such as safety, reliability, small size, light weight, no overcharge and overdischarge, and long service life, which perfectly solves the "storage" link of the RV power system.
The benefits of installing solar photovoltaic power generation panels on the roof of the car are huge. First, solar energy is a kind of clean energy, which can effectively reduce carbon emissions; second, it can make reasonable use of the roof space, avoid the high temperature caused by direct sunlight, and effectively reduce the temperature in the car; third: it continuously uses light energy Converted into electric energy, it seems that the power is not large, but the accumulated energy is not negligible, which can effectively extend the battery life.
In summer, a set of 400W solar panels can generate 3.2 kWh of electricity per day, which of course is theoretical. Taking into account factors such as light intensity changes and loss, the efficiency is calculated at 70%, and the actual charging capacity per day is 3.2×0.7=2.24 kilowatt-hours of electricity.
So, what kind of electrical appliances can this 2.24 kWh of electricity support the normal operation of a motorhome within 6 meters, the lighting equipment is calculated as 150W, a 100W refrigerator, an 80W LCD TV, a 30W laptop and a mobile phone, the combined power is about 360W, which means that these electric equipment can work together to maintain 2.24÷0.36=6.2 hours.
It can be seen that solar power generation is still very attractive for RVs. Of course, if only a photovoltaic power generation panel of about 100W is used, the effect is not obvious for lithium iron phosphate batteries, and it can only be used as a secondary energy supplement. Generally speaking, RVs will be equipped with about 10kw of battery energy. If they can completely rely on solar energy, it is estimated that the required solar photovoltaic panel power needs about 1000w, which requires about 6 square meters of workshop. In fact, this is completely achievable.
