  Whether it is Volumetric Specific Energy(Wh/L) or Weight Specific Energy(Wh/kg), lithium iron phosphate batteries(LiFePO4) are more than 3 times higher than lead-acid batteries. Taking the 12V 100ah specification as an example, the LiFePO4 battery weighs only about 10kg, but the weight of the lead-acid battery has reached more than 30kg!

  Under the same conditions, the cycle life of a LiFePO4 battery exceeds 2000 times, while the cycle life of a lead-acid battery is only about 500 times. The service life of the LiFePO4 battery is 3 to 5 times that of the lead-acid battery, which greatly reduces the long-term use cost of the LiFePO4 battery, and saves the after-sales cost of the later replacement and maintenance.

  The actual capacity of lead-acid batteries under different discharge rates is far from the rated capacity. Discharging in the C2 rate, generally only about 70% of the capacity can be discharged, and lower in the C1 rate, which can only discharge 50% of the capacity, which is very inappropriate for scenes that require high current operation. Lithium batteries are completely different, and the actual energy released under different magnifications is almost the same as the rated capacity.

  The cost of main raw materials such as cathode materials, anode materials, current collectors, separators, and electrolytes of lithium batteries is much higher than that of lead-acid batteries. Lead-acid batteries do not require protection circuits, while lithium iron phosphate batteries require sophisticated electronic protection boards. This makes the overall cost of lithium batteries at least double the cost of lead-acid batteries.

  Lead-acid batteries contain a large amount of electrolyte solutions such as lead, acid and alkali. These substances flow into the environment and cause significant pollution to soil and water, and even affect human body functions. Lithium iron phosphate batteries do not have this problem.

  In quite a lot of battery applications, compared to lead-acid batteries, using lithium iron phosphate batteries is a better choice.
