Lithium-ion batteries are widely used because of many advantages, especially lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries that can perfectly replace lead-acid batteries. So, what can be done to extend the service life of lithium batteries?
1. Do not use the lithium battery pack in an environment where the temperature is too high or too low. Lithium batteries exposed to an unsuitable temperature environment will shorten the service life of lithium batteries. When the lithium battery is not in use, it is the best practice to store it in a cool and dry place.
2. The new rechargeable battery is in a discharged state and must be charged before use. Both new batteries and lithium batteries that have not been used for a long time should be fully charged 2-3 times to reach the maximum capacity.
3. Avoid dropping or damaging the battery box, so as not to damage the built-in circuit protection board or chemical substances.
4. Keep the lithium batteries neat and orderly, and don't let the lithium batteries touch each other. A short circuit may cause serious damage to the ternary lithium battery.
5. Do not mix lithium batteries of different materials, different capacities, different voltages, and different manufacturers. Always use the same chemistry, capacity and brand.
6. Lithium batteries that have not been used for a long time should be removed from the charger and stored in a cool and dry place.
7. Choose a dedicated lithium battery charger, and at the same time, you need to choose a reasonable charging specification according to the voltage and current of the lithium battery combination.
Proper care and maintenance can extend the life of any product, including lithium-ion batteries.
