As we all know, the salt that people come into contact with every day is sodium chloride, and sodium resource reserves are very rich. The rich sources of raw materials will bring cost reductions.

  Secondly, we know that current lithium batteries are not perfect. The risk of fire and explosion of lithium batteries is very high, as can be seen from the large number of reports of lithium battery fires in the past ten years and the strict control of lithium batteries by aviation and subway departments. In terms of use properties, although sodium ion energy density is not good, its chemical properties are relatively stable, so it is not sensitive to temperature, and it is not easy to form hard dendrites like lithium dendrites. It has the same low temperature resistance and safety. The category of lithium-ion batteries also has obvious advantages. In addition, the sodium ion battery can be safely discharged to 0V for storage and transportation without affecting its battery capacity, which greatly improves the safety of the sodium battery.

  Therefore, in the context of intensified international competition, global energy transition, carbon emission reduction and carbon neutrality, the development of a new product route such as sodium batteries has very rich political and economic benefits.
