The application of lithium batteries to electric bicycle products has not been long, and its technology has not reached a very high level. Therefore, there are still many technical problems that restrict the development of the electric bicycle lithium battery industry to a certain extent.
Currently, the main problems that need to be solved with lithium-ion batteries for electric bicycles are safety issues during use. How to solve safety problems has become a trend in the development of lithium batteries for electric bicycles in the future. Here we briefly introduce how to solve this problem.
(1) Overcharge
Normal lithium batteries should be charged up to 4.2 volts. On this basis, the iron-lithium battery should be reduced by 0.5 volts as the upper and lower limits. Charges higher than 4.3 volts are overcharged. To solve this problem, it is necessary to accurately measure the true value of the voltage: use a scientific charging method, full and not overcharge; set a reasonable single-cell overcharge protection voltage point: such as: 4.2V±0.05V to ensure that it will not overcharge and explode.
(two) over release
The minimum discharge of the lithium battery is 3.2 volts, and the discharge of less than 3 volts is an over-discharge. The true value of the electric quantity is accurately measured: scientific and safe discharge methods are used, and the discharge is not over-discharged; the single-cell over-discharge protection voltage point is set reasonably: such as: 3.20 V±0.05V, to ensure that it will not explode due to over-discharge.
(3) Battery temperature detection
The temperature of the lithium battery is too high and there is a possibility of explosion. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the temperature of each battery to ensure that it will not explode due to the high temperature of the battery.
(four) overcurrent protection
Lithium batteries have a rated current, which is not allowed to exceed the rated current, otherwise the battery will be burned out. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately measure and control the charge and discharge current, and take over-current protection measures efficiently and quickly to avoid short-circuit, reverse connection and other accidents when the current exceeds the set current.
(five) equilibrium
There is a deviation in the voltage of the lithium-ion battery cells. If the balance control is not carried out, as the charge and discharge cycles increase, the voltage of each cell will gradually differentiate, and the service life will be greatly reduced. When charging and discharging a group of lithium-ion batteries, taking into account the inconsistency of each single battery, balanced measures can be taken to ensure safety and stability.
Examples of lithium batteries are widely used in energy storage power systems, uninterrupted power supplies for post and telecommunications, as well as power tools, electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, electric vehicles, military equipment, aerospace and other fields.
Although the application of lithium batteries in the field of electric bicycles has not yet reached a relatively mature level, the current good development prospects and the excellent characteristics of lithium batteries in electric bicycle products have enabled the rapid development of lithium electric bicycles.
In addition, the currently developed large-capacity lithium-ion battery has been tested in electric vehicles and is expected to become one of the main power sources for electric vehicles in the 21st century, and will be used in artificial satellites, aerospace and energy storage.
With the shortage of energy and the pressure of the world's environmental protection. Lithium batteries are now widely used in the electric vehicle industry, especially the emergence of lithium iron phosphate batteries, which has promoted technological progress and breakthroughs in the lithium battery industry.
