Research on the prospects of ternary batteries in China
In recent years, the boom in the downstream new energy vehicle market has driven the growth of demand for power batteries.
In recent years, the boom in the downstream new energy vehicle market has driven the growth of demand for power batteries. In 2016, China’s power battery shipments reached 28.04GWh, a year-on-year increase of 78.6%. Among them, new energy passenger car and bus battery shipments were 9Gwh and 15.90Gwh, accounting for 32.09% and 56.71%, respectively. The output of pure electric special vehicles was low, and its battery shipments were 3.14Gwh, accounting for 11.2%.
Ternary battery shipments were 6.29GWh, accounting for 73% and 22% of total shipments, respectively. Under the background that ternary batteries are banned in passenger cars, the proportion is basically close to 69% and 27% in 2015, to a certain extent. The above reflects the good market prosperity of ternary batteries. The increase in the proportion of ternary batteries in the two batches of recommended catalogs has also become a positive signal for its future market growth.
The proportion of each type of power battery shipment in 2016 The future power battery shipment situation is predicted. Since other power batteries account for a relatively small proportion, only lithium iron phosphate and ternary power batteries are used for forecasting. It is estimated that the total shipment of power batteries in the future will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 35.79%. By 2020, the shipment will reach 85GWh. Among them, the proportion of ternary batteries has increased year by year. In 2019, it will account for half of lithium iron phosphate batteries, and the market share will reach 55% in 2020, and the current shipments will achieve 47GWh.
