The media said that China's solar module manufacturer-Longi may become a target of the United States

　　According to Bloomberg, PV-magazine and other media reports, on November 3, solar energy analysis company Roth Capital Partners stated in a report to its customers that according to the detention and release order (WRO) issued in June, Longi may become the next component manufacturer that effected by the U.S. customs and border protection operations.

　　The analyst firm also pointed out in this report that, given the withholding and release order (WRO) and potential anti-tariff evasion challenges, the supply of solar modules in the United States faces significant risks.

　　"Although the detention has not happened yet, we believe it is imminent," Roth said in a report obtained by Photovoltaic Magazine. The report pointed out that Longi has been informed that its seaborne cargo is expected to be stranded at five ports. Analysts said in the report: "It is expected that this will have a wide-ranging impact on Longi."

　　The report also mentioned that another component company in China has recently "planned" slowing down or even stopping component supply, changing customer terms, and in some cases increasing prices by about $0.10 per watt.

　　However, it is worth noting that the US Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) is working hard to call on the Biden government to lift sanctions on Chinese photovoltaic companies and imports of photovoltaic products from Southeast Asia.

　　According to SEIA's official website, on November 1, SEIA submitted a briefing before the US International Trade Commission (USITC) hearing this week, urging the Biden government to phase out the 201 clause global safeguard tariffs imposed on imported solar cells and modules.

　　Last Wednesday (November 3), the U.S. International Trade Commission will listen to debates about the effectiveness of tariffs, and then propose to President Biden whether to extend, change or phase out tariffs.
