1. Before installing a new battery, if the brand and model of the battery are inconsistent, please compare the external dimensions and terminal positions of the new and old batteries, and carefully check the battery capacity and cold-start current parameters.

　　2. If conditions permit, use a battery tester for testing. Some batteries have been placed for a long time. Although the voltage between the positive and negative electrodes is higher than 12V, the actual capacity is still not enough.

　　3. Place the new battery in the installation location and secure. For batteries with a breather tube, don't forget to remove the breather tube connector from the old battery and install it on the new battery.

　　4. When connecting the battery, connect the positive pole first, then the negative pole. After installation, the battery terminals can be protected by spraying anti-rust protective agent or non-acidic grease.

　　5. After checking and confirming that the fastening is reliable, the external power supply can be removed. Start the engine and check the generator voltage, which can be measured at the generator output or at the battery terminals.

　　6. For vehicles whose batteries are replaced due to discharge failure, the dormant current of the vehicle should also be checked. The traditional method is to put the multimeter in the current block, then connect it in series to the negative circuit of the battery, turn off the ignition switch, activate the anti-theft system, and wait for a period of time until the current is stable.

　　7. For vehicles with a power management system, the sensor is mounted on the negative wire. Such vehicles can only be tested for current using a device such as a clamp-on ammeter.

　　8. After replacing the battery, use the diagnostic instrument to clear the relevant trouble codes recorded by the system. For vehicles equipped with a power management system, such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and other German brands, it is also necessary to enter the model of the new battery in the power management system and perform a system reset.
