Collectable solar energy? Honda reveals more details about the replaceable power bank
Among the many well-known motorcycle brands, Honda can be said to be one of the most proactively embracing electrification.
Honda has piloted the MobilePowerPack (MPP) battery replacement system in Southeast Asia very early. In 2019 and 2021, it has joined the Asian and European battery replacement systems including the other three major motorcycle manufacturers in Japan and major European brands such as KTM and Piaggio. The alliance promotes the development of the two-wheel and three-wheel electric power exchange era.
A few days ago, Honda has made a new expansion for the MPP battery replacement system. According to the new plan, Honda plans to work hand-in-hand with the MPP power exchange system and its energy services to achieve infrastructure-related power operations.
According to the news, although the use of renewable energy sources such as solar energy is the fastest way to achieve carbon neutrality, the conversion of solar energy and wind energy into electrical energy largely depends on objective factors such as weather conditions and climate. For example, solar panels generate a lot of energy during the day, but do not generate electricity at night.
In order to help these renewable resources to stably output electrical energy, Honda proposed a new way to combine the MPP power exchange system with its energy services. Honda's new generation of MPP charging stations can collect and store the electricity converted from solar energy, collect the surplus electricity during the day, and feed the electricity back to the system at night to support charging, effectively acting as a buffer and reducing the peak load of the grid.
It is understood that Honda's plan may be the first to be implemented in India in 2022.
