Natural gas price hits a record high in the past 14 years, energy costs are rising rapidly

According to the Associated Press, natural gas is currently the most commonly used heating fuel for American residents, and about half of American households use natural gas for heating. In the context of rising natural gas prices in the United States, it is estimated that the average cost of natural gas heating for American residents this winter will reach US$746, an increase of about 30% over the same period last year. Residents in the Midwest and other regions may have more expensive winter heating costs, with a year-on-year increase of 49%, setting the highest historical record since the winter of 2008.

The second largest heating method for American residents is electricity, which accounts for about 41%. According to statistics, this winter, it is expected that the cost of electricity and heating for a single household in the United States will rise by at least 6% compared with last year, reaching US$1,268.

At the same time, according to news from the US Meteorological Research Institute, affected by abnormal climate changes, the average temperature in the United States this winter is expected to be lower than in previous years, which will result in higher heating demand in the United States this winter than in previous years, which will further increase the heating costs of American residents.

The American news media ABC quoted Mark Wolfe, executive director of the National Energy Assistance Association, as saying: "The current situation will put tremendous pressure on nearly one-third of the people in the United States. In fact, many low-income families have turned down their heating at night. For them, they can no longer afford energy."

Not only that, according to another report released by the US government, due to the tense situation in the global supply chain, in September this year, US prices rose by about 5.4% compared with the same period last year, covering daily necessities, gasoline and diesel, and even medicine and food, which set the fastest inflation record since 2008.

At the same time, this year, the U.S. Gulf of Mexico oil and gas production base experienced severe production cuts due to the impact of the hurricane. At the same time, OPEC's decision to maintain production cuts also supported global oil prices. Under this circumstance, US gasoline prices continued to rise. According to "USA Today" reports, although the United States has entered the low season of gasoline demand in autumn and winter, gasoline prices in the United States are still high. In the second week of October, US gasoline prices have risen to $3.3/gallon, an increase of more than 50% compared to the same period last year. The analysis pointed out that for ordinary American families with cars, the cost of refueling each car will rise by at least $13.44 compared with last year, and the cost of fuel will increase significantly.

Many American media have written articles claiming that factors such as tight energy supply and inflation have obviously pushed up the energy consumption costs of American residents. In the short term, this trend may be difficult to alleviate. At present, the global oil and gas prices are showing a rapid upward trend. High market demand and tight natural gas supply have made European natural gas prices more than three times higher than last year. This phenomenon will directly drive US natural gas producers more inclined to sell to European countries. Natural gas has caused a tight supply of natural gas in the United States, and gas prices are likely to remain high.

Although many families have adopted clean energy, especially distributed power generation methods such as lithium batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries, solar photovoltaic power generation, etc., although these measures still have a certain effect, after all, the effects of these methods are limited. People still use natural gas and oil as their main energy sources, which also means that in the near future, people still need to pay higher prices for energy.

Lithium-ion battery (LIB) has become the main energy storage solution in modern social life. Among them, lithium iron phosphate batteries are a perfect substitute for lead-acid batteries, and are the first choice for grid-connected peak shaving, off-grid energy storage, photovoltaic energy storage, UPS, data center and other industries.
