Maybe you would say that it is Tesla. In fact, the real speed master in the electric car industry is a model called Buckeye Bullet-3, which is jointly manufactured by VENTURI and Ohio State University. Different from general car design goals, this car was born with a record of extreme speed.
VENTURI is a French car manufacturer, well-known for its high-speed electric vehicles. The Jamais Contente designed by Venturi a long time ago was the first electric car to break the 100km/h barrier. In 2009, the Buckeye Bullet 2.0 jointly developed by it and Ohio State University set the highest speed record for electric vehicles at that time.
The pace of VENTURI's research and development has not stopped. In 2010, they continued to create Buckeye Bullet 2.5, which increased the speed record of electric vehicles to 495km/h at that time. In 2013, VENTURI continued to embark on a fast road. They fully upgraded the Buckeye Bullet and launched a full impact to the 700km/h speed.
First of all, it has carried out a comprehensive weight reduction on the car, reducing the weight of the originally 2.63-ton guy to 1.95 tons. What kind of state-of-the-art technology can achieve such an effective weight reduction? It's impossible to work only on body materials. They started with the battery and replaced the hydrogen fuel cell with a lithium iron phosphate battery. The 1.4-ton battery was reduced to 0.4 tons, and the electric motor power was also increased to 600kW (816Ps), and the body size remained basically the same as the previous generation.
Buckeye Bullet 3 basically continues the appearance of the previous model as a whole, but has been adjusted in some details. Its overall lines are smooth, and the width and height of the body are slightly increased. Its shape is designed like a fighter jet, and the huge airplane-style tail wing greatly enhances driving stability. The cockpit of the car has moved a certain distance back, and the whole body of the car is made of carbon fiber material, which effectively reduces the weight of the car. The changes in these details play a very good role for the car to better exert its own strength.
Compared with the previous two generations of cars, it has actually gained a lot of fat, with a total weight of 3.5 tons and a battery weight of 1.6 tons. Both of these figures are a lot more than Buckeye Bullet 2.5. This is mainly because of the battery. With the development of technology, they replaced the cylindrical lithium iron phosphate battery with a square lithium iron phosphate battery, and the number has also increased by 500, so that the weight and volume of the battery are increased.
The entire car is built on a basic skeleton, which supports the entire body. All other parts are arranged on it step by step. The vehicle is mainly composed of the cockpit, wheels, battery pack and electric motor.
