Since lithium iron phosphate batteries can replace lead-acid batteries, can a lithium battery charger be used to charge lead-acid batteries or a lead-acid battery charger can be used to charge lithium batteries?
The working principle of the two is different.
Lithium battery chargers are dedicated and usually have high control precision. The charging process can be divided into four stages: trickle charging (low-voltage pre-charge), constant current charging, constant voltage charging, and charging termination.
The lead-acid battery charger adopts fast charge three-stage charging (fast charge + limited voltage floating charge), and a negative pulse discharge shock circuit is set at the same time to effectively prevent the lead-acid battery plate from vulcanizing.
When the output voltage of the charger is the same, the lithium battery charger can emergency charge the lead-acid battery, but long-term use will cause the lead-acid battery plate to vulcanize, which will seriously affect the service life of the lead-acid battery.
The lead-acid battery charger is completely unable to charge the lithium battery, because it has floating charge and negative pulse discharge functions, which will cause serious damage to the lithium battery.
Lithium-ion battery (LIB) has become the main energy storage solution in modern social life. Among them, lithium iron phosphate batteries are a perfect replacement for lead-acid batteries, and they are the first choice for grid-connected peak shaving, off-grid energy storage, photovoltaic energy storage, UPS, data center and other industries.
