Lithium batteries are batteries that can be charged and discharged multiple times. In practical applications, the charging time of lithium batteries is a matter of concern to many consumers.
So how can lithium batteries be charged safely and quickly under safe conditions?
There are many ways to charge lithium batteries. For the requirements of fast charging, there are mainly the following three:
▼Pulse charging
Pulse charging is divided into three parts: constant current pre-charge (CC Pre-charge), high current constant current charge (CC Fast Charge) and constant voltage charge (CV).
Compared with conventional charging methods, pulse charging can be charged with a larger current. This method has fast charging speed, small temperature change, and little impact on battery life, so it is currently widely used.
▼Reflex fast charging method
The Reflex fast charging method is also known as the "hiccup" charging method.
Each working cycle of this method includes three stages: forward charging, reverse instantaneous discharge and stop charging.
It solves the phenomenon of battery polarization to a large extent and speeds up the charging speed. But reverse discharge will shorten the life of the lithium battery.
▼Smart charging method
Intelligent charging is currently a more advanced charging method. It judges the battery charging state by checking the increase of battery voltage and current, and dynamically tracks the acceptable charging current of the battery, so that the charging current is near the maximum acceptable charging curve of the battery from beginning to end.
Lithium-ion battery (LIB) has become the main energy storage solution in modern social life. Among them, lithium iron phosphate batteries are a perfect substitute for lead-acid batteries, and are the first choice for grid-connected peak shaving, off-grid energy storage, photovoltaic energy storage, UPS systems, data centers and other industries.
In the foreseeable future, the smart charging method is the optimal fast charging method for lithium batteries.
