Energy storage lithium batteries and power lithium batteries are lithium batteries that we often encounter, so what are their differences and characteristics?
1. Different application industries
Energy storage lithium battery applications: photovoltaic power storage, power storage power stations, mobile communication power supplies, off-grid peak shaving energy storage, aerospace military power supplies, UPS systems and wind power generation equipment, etc.
Power lithium battery applications: electric vehicles or electric bicycles, products that need to drive motors, and occasions where instant high-power output is required.
2. The logical structure of the BMS system hardware is different
The energy storage lithium battery management system is relatively static, and scalability needs to be considered. Generally, a two-tier or three-tier management system is used.
The power lithium battery management system has higher requirements for power response speed and power characteristics, SOC estimation accuracy, and the number of state parameter calculations. Generally, one-layer centralized type or two-layer distributed type are adopted.
3. Different types of lithium batteries used
Energy storage lithium batteries mainly use lithium iron phosphate batteries, because lithium iron phosphate batteries are superior to other batteries in terms of safety, environmental protection, size, and weight.
Power lithium batteries are currently lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary lithium batteries.
4. Different capacity and volume requirements
Energy storage lithium batteries are mainly used for static energy storage, requiring large capacity and long life.
Power lithium batteries are mainly used dynamically. In addition to requiring large capacity and long life, they also need to have low self-discharge and be able to charge quickly.
5. Different working current range
Power lithium batteries are generally used in equipment that requires high current discharge (generally 3C-5C discharge range).
Energy storage lithium batteries are generally used in devices that require small current discharge (usually 0.5-1C discharge range).
Lithium-ion battery (LIB) has become the main energy storage solution in modern social life. Among them, lithium iron phosphate batteries are a perfect substitute for lead-acid batteries, and are the first choice for grid-connected peak shaving, off-grid energy storage, photovoltaic energy storage, UPS, data centers and other industries.
