(1) Choose a stable battery cell material
Try to use lithium iron phosphate batteries. The molecular structure of lithium iron phosphate is stable, the heat generation is small and it is difficult for thermal runaway, even after thermal runaway, it will not produce combustion aid (oxygen) to cause fire. The best evidence is that the lithium iron phosphate battery can pass the acupuncture test. This test is used to verify the result of a short-circuit thermal runaway inside the battery cell.
(2) Improve the reliability of lithium batteries through intelligent means at the system level
The BMS management system is particularly important. It is necessary to identify faults and maintain in advance through multi-level intelligent BMS management to control thermal runaway at an early stage to prevent fires.
On the one hand, the reliability of the battery cell can be predicted by the internal short circuit algorithm, and the battery cell with a failure trend can be identified, so as to alarm and remind the battery to be replaced in time.
On the other hand, the BMS system should have a current sharing control function to ensure that the current of each group of batteries is the same when multiple groups of batteries are running in parallel, so as to ensure the consistency of the batteries.
(3) Combine prevention and fire fighting
The key to improving the reliability of lithium batteries is prevention. In the event of a fire, it is necessary to minimize the damage caused by the fire. This requires fire-fighting means in the cabinet to quickly extinguish the fire in the event of a fire. The fire-fighting method in the cabinet can be module level or cabinet level.
