Button cell (buttoncell) is also called button cell. In terms of shape, it refers to a battery whose shape is like a small button. Generally speaking, it has a larger diameter and a thinner thickness. The corresponding battery classification includes cylindrical battery and square battery. Shaped battery. Below, Kejing will provide you with the steps and equipment for making this battery, which is mainly divided into three steps:

  1. Active material prepared by sintering in a rotary furnace

  2. Mix and grind the prepared materials

  3. Vacuum stirring the prepared positive and negative electrode mixture

  4. Use a viscometer to measure the viscosity of the slurry when the coating effect is good, and record it, so that the battery slurry can be adjusted to this viscosity in the next experiment

  5. Use a slurry filter to filter out various hard particles with a particle size of not less than 124 microns in the slurry

  6. Coat the positive and negative materials on the current collector respectively, and dry

  7. Roll the dried positive and negative substrates to reduce the thickness and increase the density.

  8. Move the pole piece into the drying box for further drying

  9. Cut the positive and negative electrodes and the separator paper into small round pieces of the specified diameter

  10. Move the cut pole piece, diaphragm paper, electrolyte, battery case and other accessories into the glove box (the water and oxygen content must be less than 11PPM)

  11. Assemble the battery in the stacking order from bottom to top and inject electrolyte: negative shell>flat pad + appropriate amount of electrolyte>metal lithium sheet + appropriate amount of electrolyte>a layer of diaphragm paper + appropriate amount of electrolyte>positive sheet + appropriate amount of electrolyte Liquid>flat pad + appropriate amount of electrolyte>shrapnel>positive case

  12. Packaging the battery on the packaging machine

  battery test

  13. Use a battery analyzer to test the battery capacity and cycle aging

  14. Use the internal resistance tester to measure the internal resistance of the battery

  1. After the button battery electrodes are coated, do they need to be dried before assembling the battery?

  2. Some people say that the diaphragm needs to be wetted, how do you do it?

  3. Carbon materials are usually used as anode electrode materials. This anode, corresponding to Chinese, is not a negative electrode? But I saw a video from MTI. They put the anode electrode material in the positive case. I was very confused. Please ask experts to explain.

  4. To assemble the battery, put the positive electrode case underneath first, then put the positive electrode material, separator, negative electrode material, gasket/spring sheet, negative electrode case, or put the negative electrode case underneath. The next order is negative electrode material, separator, and positive electrode material. . . . . ?When is the electrolyte appropriate?

  5. When testing after assembly, do charge and discharge adaptation. The literature often mentions charging and discharging at 0.1C or 0.5C. How is this C determined? In the software, what is the specific parameter input? Current, or capacity?

Lithium-ion button battery is mainly composed of the following parts: positive electrode shell, negative electrode shell, (positive/negative) pole piece, separator, gasket, shrapnel, electrolyte.

The commonly used button cell battery shells are CR2032, CR2025, CR2016, etc., C represents the button battery system, and R represents the battery shape is round. The first two digits are the diameter (in mm), and the last two digits are the thickness (in 0.1mm), whichever is closer. For example, the approximate size of CR2032 is 20mm in diameter and 3.2mm in thickness.
